海南支教:友情满怀的心灵之旅

Sisley Tang Penaloza 上海美国学校(浦西校区)

To my sweet, lovely teammates,

I am writing this letter to express my deepest gratitude for the support, guidance, encouragement, and friendship you have provided me throughout this teaching course. Being part of this team has taught me valuable lessons about hard work, perseverance, and teamwork that I will carry with me throughout my life.

From the first day of our discussions on what to teach in class, I was nervous and uncertain, but you all have made those feelings perish. As we progressed through our classes, experiencing both losing and winning streaks, I was impressed and inspired by the perseverance and commitment you all displayed. Even when spirits were low, your determination encouraged me to dig deeper and push harder. I witnessed the joy when each of you took a big step, not just in individual accomplishments but in the growth and success of the entire team. Your selflessness and team-first mentality showed me what true camaraderie looks like.

I will never forget the friendship and bond that required each of us to execute our roles perfectly. I think of the hugs, high-fives, tears, and cheers that followed, knowing that we had accomplished something meaningful through our collective hard work and trust in one another. That shared triumph reminded me of the power of teamwork over individual achievement, a lesson I will carry with me always.

As our teaching journey ends, I am grateful not just for what I learned about the sport that brought us together but for what I learned about life, community, and genuine friendship. Thank you for an incredible teaching experience and for teaching me that teamwork leads to dreams coming true. Although our time together on the field is ending, I look forward to watching each of you continue to grow, excel, and make our team and community proud. I consider myself blessed and fortunate to call you teammates and friends.

With sincere appreciation and affection,

Sisley Penaloza

And to my fellow students:

Dear 4(1) class Students,

As this summer camp ends, I want to express my deepest wishes and support for you all in the coming years of your education journey. Being your teacher has been one of the great joys and privileges of this summer.
From the moment you walked into my classroom on the first day, full of hopes, dreams, and undiscovered potential, I felt a sense of responsibility to help all of you grow as learners, thinkers, and individuals. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and creativity invigorated and inspired all five teachers, encouraging us to allow you to thrive even more in the years to come.

As the days have progressed, I have been continually impressed by your intellectual curiosity, willingness to take on challenges, and persistence in the face of obstacles. I marveled at your creativity and your ability to overcome challenges, from being introverted to participating more in class.

I enjoyed our lively discussions where you shared your unique perspectives and thoughts. Together we learned not just about academic subjects but also about how to think critically, which left all of us teachers extremely impressed. Your hard work, progress, and accomplishments brought joy and satisfaction to all teachers. From learning about personal emotions to creating artworks and understanding the vastness of galaxies and stars, each piece has brought us immense joy in seeing you all grow.

I admired your support for each other, the care, and compassion you demonstrated toward your classmates. Your kindness, willingness to help others, and acceptance of differences touched my heart. Your interactions and relationships taught me so much about the power of community and teamwork.

While I look forward to seeing how each of you continues to grow and develop after leaving our classroom, I know that the memories we have created, the lessons we have learned together, and the role all the teachers have played, however small, in your intellectual and personal journeys will stay with me forever.

You have inspired me, challenged me, encouraged me, and made us better people. For that, we will always be grateful. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to be your teacher for these short four days. You have forever changed my life for the better.

With deep respect and affection,

Sisley Penaloza
