Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance of Retracing the Silk Road

Utilize the creative expression of documentaries to tell the story of the Silk Road.

For more than 3,000 years, the Silk Road has been connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe in material trade and cultural communications, and has always influenced the progress of human civilization. Volunteers will travel to the Silk Road towns - Zhangye and Dunhuang, under the guidance of expert mentors, to understand the world from the multi-themed Silk Road story, to record what they see and hear with the camera, and work together in small groups to present the "Silk Road Story" documentary in the eyes of the young generation, understand Dunhuang culture, and spread Chinese stories in creative expression.

1. Online tutor's portrait: tutor of the "Dunhuang Watchers" project, former Chinese principal of the Confucius Institute in Germany, who has organized many international exchange activities on Dunhuang culture.
2. Specialized Workshops: Documentary, Mock Interview, Expression Workshops; Silk Road Culture Workshop, Non-material Cultural Heritage Puppetry Workshop, Han Jian Workshop, Clay Printmaking Workshop, Wet Topography Non-material Cultural Heritage Art Workshop.

2. Unique Experiences: Ride a camel across the desert, watch the immersive drama "Dunhuang Again" and a digital movie, tour the Mogao Caves, enter the Jiayuguan Pass, Dunhuang Museum, the secret Yulin Grottoes, the Colorful Danxia Landscapes, and the Zhangye Museum.

"Volunteering + Research", exclusively designed by ASDAN China, is an academic growth model that combines research-oriented learning and voluntary service.
